The new Steyr tractors STEYR CVT 120 STEYR CVT 130 STEYR CVT 150 STEYR CVT 170 Marking the start of a new generation on the tractor market. The main focus in the development of STEYR CVT tractors was placed on maximum productivity, economy and operating comfort. The STEYR CVT drive train constitutes the heart of the new tractor generation. The driving speed is controlled without any effort by means of the accelerator pedal or via the Cruise Control. |

| Hydrostatic unit: A hydrostatic fixed displacement motor, which is directly pressurised with the oil flow conveyed by the pump, is mounted back to back onto a variable hydrostatic pump. Through electrohydraulic adjustment of the inclined plate (pivoting angle +k200, 55 cm3 capacity, 430 bar maximum pressure) in the hydrostatic pump both the speed as well as the rotational direction of the hydrostatic motor can be changed. Compound planetary gear: This unit consists of a 5-shaft planetary gear with two input shafts and three output shafts in which the actual superposition of the mechanical and hydrostatic power takes place. Mechanical 4-range transmission: Planetary units in which 4 speed ranges are attained are connected to the compound planetary gear. The changeover between the individual speed ranges is carried out through overlap closing of special claw clutches at synchronous speeds without tractive force interruption. A planetary unit with direct link in forward travel and reversal of rotational direction in reverse travel is connected to the above. Transmission and vehicle electronics: Special electronics enable control and regulation of transmission as well as interplay between the individual components. |
|
| The mechanical power at the internal gear and the hydrostatic power at the sun gear of the compound planetary gear together provide the appropriate output in the respective speed ranges. Through the superposition of the two input speeds (mechanical and hydrostatic) it is possible to achieve variable output speeds at a constant engine speed. In this way the travelling speed of 0 to 50 km/h can be achieved forwards and backwards with continuously variable control and without tractive force interruption. |
|
|
The figure shows three clearly defined modes in the compound planetary gear. The internal gear depicted in red supplies the mechanical portion of the power transmission, is directly driven by the engine and thus always rotates in the same direction according to the engine speed. The sun gear shown in green is driven by the hydrostatic motor and transmits the hydrostatic power. The speed and rotational direction of the sun gear can be varied by adjusting the inclined plate at the hydrostatic pump from the maximum speed in the opposite direction (mode 1), via stop (mode 2) to synchronous operation (mode 3) with the internal gear. The respective output, which is now transmitted to the mechanical 4-range gear, results from the sum of sun gear and internal gear. |

| The STEYR CVT features a performance monitor as standard equipment All information that is important for the operator can be read off or are adjustable on the performance monitor. Its operation is designed such that you can obtain the desired information very easily and quickly. The CAN bus system in the STEYR CVT enables you to read out faults via the performance monitor. |

| The most up-to-date digital electronic hitch control made by Bosch (EHR - D) is installed in the Steyr CVT. This system works with a position sensor and two electronic load-sensing bolts at the lower links in order to detect draft resistance and pulses sensitively. The hitch control completely does away with mechanical components. Wear and declining control precision are thus ruled out. The signals are processed in a separate electronics box and subsequently transmitted to the proportional control auxiliary valve. |

| A further component of the EHR-D with slip control as optional equipment is a radar sensor. In addition, this EHR-D is equipped with an integrated self-diagnosis system. Operation is carried out very comfortably on the components provided on the Multi-Controller II on the arm rest and on the right-hand control panel. See illustration. |

Lifting / lowering / fast Implement penetration These functions are provided on the Multi-Controller II, which is mounted on the arm rest. The buttons are identified through their orange colour. 1. Button 1 serves to activate the EHR and to lift / lower the hitch. A. Activate 1 - Press button 1 once, the red pilot lamp 2 on the right-hand operating side goes out and the hitch moves up to the position to which the lift limitation is set. B. Lift ~ lower 1 - By pressing button 1 alternately, the hitch is lifted to the position according to the lift limitation. Pilot lamp 2 lights up. If button 1 is pressed repeatedly, the hitch is lowered to the set position and lamp 2 goes out. (The lowering speed can be infinitely varied) C. Fast Implement penetration 3 - By pressing and holding down button 3, the hitch is lowered to a point below the value of the set working depth at maximum speed. D. Safety switch 4 - With this switch you can switch the power supply for the EHR and for all auxiliary valves off or on at the Multi-Controller II. It is secured against unintentional actuation during transport runs. E. Stop button 5 - When actuated, all EHR functions are stopped immediately. For further operation the EHR must be activated again using button 1.

Setpoint adjusting wheel 1: It provides for sensitive vertical positioning of the implement in position control mode and for precise setting of the desired working depth in tractive force control mode. Position 0 = maximum lifting height Position 9 = maximum working depth Position 9 - 10 = float position (tractive force control not possible) Pilot lamps: 2- Red, PTO management active 3- Green EHR deactivated and fault indication 4- Yellow, slip control on 5- Green, lift I lower hitch I float position
Outside button for hitch operation 6: At the two rear mudguards green buttons are installed with which the hitch can be lifted and lowered from the outside for the duration of the operation. inside button for hitch operation 7: Same function as the outside buttons. When the button is pressed up or down, the hitch is raised or lowered only for the duration of the operation.
